Welcome to my blog this grandmas diary. I hope you will read my blog description.I do need to add more to my description,if anyone has a suggestion, please leave me a comment ,or in my gmail. today I am thinking about the teens about to start college. This is one of the transitional periods in life. Some of transition easily and others have a hard time transitioning to this new life. From childhood to adulthood.Earlier this week I picked up a book ,Titled:Life's Little Instruction Book. I 've had the book for at least 10 years. But this was the first time I realised ,the book was written by a father to his son who was leaving for college. So it didn't Begin as a book.I know there are parents out there right now ,thinking they would like to tell their son or daughter so much more ,but have held back ,thinking their son or daughter was tired of hearing their advice. You might not get to say anything, your child won't listen anyway.I know we have heard and seen on tv.,for many years ,how to talk to your child ,some related to drugs, others reminding us what is important in a family,to keep the communication open, such as eating dinner together. That one I think has come and gone.I just want to list a few of the lines in this book: Look people in the eye.Make new friends but cherish the old ones.Floss your teeth,Learn to listen.Opportunity sometimes knocks very softly.Know how to drive a stick shift. There is much more. This was placed under the car seat.So parents this might give you an ideas. This grand ma has plenty.
