Do You Understand How Prayer Works?

All of us pray,sometimes it's out of desperation;when you falls on your knees and says,please help me,tears streaming down your face and many times you feel it's too late anyway,but still ,even if you have never prayed before,somehow you are begging for God's help,Jesus's help;what I have learned about prayer is this;when we pray for what ever it might be.God and Jesus hear your prayer.However,what many people don't know is ,for your prayer to be answered specific changes have to occur.I think of it as a shifting .Some say ,Gods work is done in his time ,not ours.I agree with this ,but it seems a general statement.(which is the reason some people don't understand).I might pray to have a loving and healthy relationship with someone;many changes will have to occur. First of all, do I know what a loving ,healthy, relationship is?,does the other person know, and want this too?,you may be at this place in your life,but the other person is another place. This is loving to recognize that we are individuals and each of us have our own learning to get to the next place. I may be learning to be a loving person and learning about my part in this particular relationship ,but when I learn it's not just about me ,I understand,and continue to pray to learn about being a loving person.Of course this to will take me through many places in myself and some of it will be difficult,even have me on my knees,because we only learn so much at a time.Then we have to practice what we have learned.There is much more ,but Like I said,you don't get all.
