Very Important Information About Help For Cost of Medication.

Hey everybody, perk up your ears , I have lots to tell you and it is very important. Since I have left the working world , I have not had insurance , nor any prescription coverage. I told a friend last week that it is at least a partime job getting my medications. I , like many others can't afford my medications . When I say I can't afford my meds. , that is an understatement believe me. I have several meds. that cost over $ 400.00 a month . That doesn't include the others that are less in cost , however, they cost too much as well for a person with low , even medium income . I don't take all the meds. I have been prescribed , and I know there are many , many more people out there who could tell a similar story. I want to share some information about this delima . I called pharmaceutical companies an applied for their assistance programs. I have been accepted by some that send my medication at no cost , and the application for free medications is valid for a year . You can renew easily , as a matter of fact they will remind you of when to reapply . I realize that there are programs that are helping people get information about these services, such as the program PPA , Montel Williams is the spokesman for the program , and the pamphlet you receive , has a list of pharmaceutical assistance programs . Also some med cards for discounts on meds. While this information will be a miracle for many, there is still alot of costly medications that you can't get help with . Just to name one for myself ; Deplin 7.5 mg. 1 time a day. This is fairly new , it is termed a food medication . That sounds like it 's not that important ," but believe me it is". I recived a discount card from the company but the discount is like a dollar , for a months supply . The cost is approx. $ 60.00 a month . I want stop and mention here; for me and I know so many other people , when you get the right medications , they work for you ; it is" very scary ", to think about having to change or not be able to get the medications. I have been very fortunate , my Dr. and his nurse have help me so much , with samples , with supplying information to the pharmaceutical companies. I am very grateful to them. Another important part is , the people who don't know how to get this help . I know from my experience in mental health , some people are too sick to carry out the processes , also, when a person has many meds. , and can't get them all , there will be many serious ramifications . I'll end with this . " Some people have a monthly income ,of $ 880.00 ."
