Little Girl Found

Hi everybody, grandma is ready to roll. Earlier this week we had an awful scare. A 12 year old girl was missing , when I heard about it , she had been gone for almost 3 hours . The missing child alert was sent out .It is a computer set to contact approx. 300,000 people . Then about the 5th hour , The call came in from her dad that he had found her . She was not t far from home , but she was hiding . The father had searched the hiding place earlier , as well as the police , and maybe others , their were already many local people , friends , neighbors , family, all looking for the girl. The 12 year old had taken the family dog with her , and she has him trained very well . As her friend said , "when she tells him to stay he doesn't move" . Also the dog will attack anyone who comes near her . The dog ,of course , is how the dad found his daughter . They were hidden but dad did see the dog and began to call him . The 12 year old had left a note leading everyone to think she had ran away . So there was nothing to hint where she may have gone, but the dog would make it different . She couldn't take the dog into some places , and she couldn't leave him alone. It was getting late , and all her friends had been contacted , and any where she might go , had been alerted . It was surprising that she was still so close to home , and that she was ok . It was a miracle that we all felt. The little girl was angry because she had been grounded , and there is more , but that is for the family to work out . Once she had returned, the officer spoke with her briefly about how many people were looking for her, and he told her about the missing child alert . He made it known to her , that the local police station was next door, and how he and the other officers were there anytime she needed to talk , not hold it in , and then do something like tonight . She appeared to listen , and shook her head in agreement . There were others that ask her to please call and talk about things . I thought telling this story could be , in some way, useful for others . More tommorrow on early teens.
